Q + A

Transportation

Our venue is located on one of the most beautiful gulf islands in BC - Galiano Island, you will have to take a ferry from either Vancouver or Victoria to be able to get there. Please let us know if you need a ride through our RSVP portal so we can arrange a pick-up for you (either from the YVR airport or the Sturdies Bay ferry terminal (Galiano Island side)). Please make sure to check the ferry schedule prior to your departure via BC Ferries website.

What is the venue like?

Bodega Ridge is one of our favourite places to relax, recharge, and reconnect with each other and we would love for you to have this opportunity to do the same! Their 22-acre woods with the breathtaking view are simply magical. The ceremony will be taking place at the top of the mountain, therefore, it is a short-hike away, so please make sure to wear dressy but comfortable shoes, the venue also offers a car ride if that’s what you prefer. The reception dinner will take place indoor at the Lola restaurant with an uncovered patio. If you want to take a sneak peek, please feel free to check out their instagram page!

What will be covered during the weekend? Hotels? Food? Drinks?

As most of you will be travelling from outside of BC, we understand that it takes a lot of time and resources for you to be here and we couldn’t appreciate more of your presence! We will be covering 2 nights of your staying at the gorgeous rustic cabins at Bodega Ridge, once we have the rooms sorted, we will let you know which cabin belongs to you. All of the cabins have 3 bedrooms each, so most likely you will be sharing one with some of our other guests. If you have any preference, please feel free to let us know and we will try our best to accommodate everyone! On the other side, we will also be covering the Welcome BBQ dinner (Friday night) and the Reception dinner (wedding day). We will also have an open bar for both nights!

What about breakfast and lunch?

Breakfasts and lunches will not be covered. We encourage all of our guests to explore the island prior to the wedding, so we chose to keep the schedule flexible. Lola restaurant offers a delicious selection of pastries and sandwiches. Each cabin also has a full kitchen, so please feel free to make your own food if that’s what you prefer.

Dance Party?

After serious considerations, we decided that we will not have a dance floor. Both Kev and I are not big fans of wild dance parties and we really want to create a cozy and relaxed environment for everyone to connect and catch-up. However, don’t worry, we will of course have music, drinks, and some interactive games to keep you entertained!

Should we stay longer than the weekend?

YES! Absolutely! This is not just a destination wedding, we hope this can also be the little getaway for you and your loved ones! Vancouver Island is a stunning place and if you have the time and resources, you should definitely stay longer and explore!

Gifts

At this time, we have chosen not to register. Thoughtful gifts or donations by cash or cheque to our future trip fund are greatly appreciated, but not necessary. Your presence is present enough!
